SCISS HISTORIUM

Overview

Historium is a software visualization platform designed to provide museums and historical venues with means to tell the stories of what they are, have been and will become. With Historium, you can give your audience a rich experience in an environment that can be explored either linearly through a pre-designed show of any length or interactively using gamepads and controls familiar from computer games of today.

Visualizing historical environments using the latest in gaming technology is a way to capture the attention of your audience. As children of all ages become more media savvy, it is key to any institution wishing to communicate their stories in an effective way to make use of elements such as immersion and interactivity to capture attention. Immersion and Interactivity are the cornerstones of SCISS Historium.

Immersion

Immersion is the way by which you transport your audience from their daily lives into the story you wish to communicate. Immersion can be achieved in many ways, through physically immersive spaces such as dome theaters and cave-like environments, to spatial audio and surrounding architecture that captures the atmosphere of your story. SCISS Historium supports many types of immersive spaces, supports spatial audio, and through our global network of partners we can help you design the immersive space that best fits your needs and your stories.

Interactivity

Interactivity is the technology for letting your audience take part in the storytelling. Interactive storytelling is not linear, instead it’s an explorative journey where every showing is unique and the audience, or a guide, can decide where to go in any given moment. SCISS has explored interactive storytelling for five years, and developed interaction models that are smooth, easy to use and flexible enough to let your untrained guides become expert pilots after only a few hours of training.
